Perkins Engines and Wacker Neuson team up to deliver the EW100 wheeled excavator and DV45 dual view dumper

Industry collaboration fuels compact innovation as Perkins Engines team up with Wacker Neuson to power the new 10-tonne EW100 wheeled excavator and 4.2-tonne DV45 dual view dumper.

Now available to order, the products represent the continuing successful relationship between the two brands. To find out more, Peter Haddock spoke to Simon Wardle of Perkins Engines at the new testing facility next to the Wacker Neuson factory in Linz, Austria.

Simon: “The EW100 represents a new size class for Wacker Neuson with two engine options, our 2.8 litre 55 kW and our larger 3.6 litre 100kW. Using 3D design tools, our engineers worked with the Wacker Neuson team to design a solution that accommodated both engine sizes into the same compact design.

“This gives customers greater options regarding both power and road speed, especially in those markets where operators like to tow trailers to the job site.”

In addition to being compact and powerful, the EW100 is very versatile with a lot of hydraulic capability. Here, the Perkins Engines team has optimised hydraulic performance.

This allows operators to use attachments like engcon, Rototilt Group AB and Steelwrist tilt rotators supported by 2D and 3D machine control from the likes of Leica Geosystems.

Similarly, the DV45, now the smallest in the popular dual-view range, uses the Perkins 36kW engine, matching the power needed for roading and carrying with fuel efficiency.
